Shapes and Forms In Art

The galleries (1-4) below explore a progression of paintings at various levels of abstraction — simple to complex presentations through the use of color and lines distinguished either through the use of shapes, or through the use of relatable forms. Upon first glance, a scant semblance of a human figure in abstract is presented. In another instance, a recognizable form comes to life as shapes intersect to disclose a figure. Other paintings with more complex lines and forms have discernible figures that are easily understood where color and subject evoke emotion about the painting.
